A few early prints

The impulse that led me to gum in the first place was that I wanted to express photographic images in a non-photographic way. I didn't know about the pictorialists in those days, my educational background being in statistics rather than art history, but my goals were similar to theirs, and some of my images probably resemble some of theirs, though not intended to imitate them. My early prints were monochrome or duochrome prints. I made a lot of prints in this gold- brown combination during that time, which still looks quite attractive to me, looking back from years on.
