This series of six studies of the surf was done during the period when I was interested in printing in a high key (no dark tones) with very smooth and subtle tonal gradations within this narrow range of tones. I achieved this effect by printing three layers with a very light pigment mix. This is a study print I made in preparation for the larger series, which I printed at 16X20.
